Claire Kantz is a London-based singer-songwriter crafting emotionally charged pop with sharp storytelling and atmospheric production. Rooted in melody-first songwriting on guitar and piano, her music blends cinematic builds with confessional lyrics, exploring queer coming-of-age themes, heartbreak, and the chaos of knowing something is bad for you (but doing it anyway).
Kantz began writing seriously in 2021, lost in the aftermath of major personal change. At this time, she leaned on songwriting as a way of processing identity, intimacy, and emotional uncertainty. What started as an experiment quickly became her focus, with early songs revealing a natural instinct for narrative and emotional pacing. Originally trained in musical theatre, she brings a performer’s sensibility to her writing, shaping intimate moments into songs that favor tension, release, and clarity of feeling.
Now based in East London, Kantz is finishing her debut EP, written independently and influenced by the city’s pop-rock and indie scenes. The project marks a clear step forward in both sound and self-definition, as she continues to build a visual and live world to match her songwriting and establish her place within London’s music landscape.
